Belize in September

school road march
What better month to start our blog than in September? With very good reason it is completely understood why this time of the year is the slowest for tourism in Belize. After all September is the peak of the wet season which starts in June and, it also coincides with the hurricane season which will last until November. However, we believe that this month could also be a very good time of the year to travel to Belize. If you want to really experience the lifestyle, music, culture and history of this unique country within Central America – this is the time of the year we would highly recommend.

September is a special month for us here in Belize as we look forward to commemorate our Independence Day on the 21st, an achievement that all Belizeans are proud of.

One day of celebration is too short so, as a country with very strong Caribbean connections, we celebrate for the entire month. To be in Belize in this month is to get a better appreciation and vibration of the country and to interact with the friendly people. You get to enjoy music festivals from local and Caribbean artist alike. The parades are amazing especially the carnival road march. National pride and patriotism fill the air all over the country. The events are non-stop and it culminate with the big 20th night flag raising ceremony and official ceremonies on the 21st day. Belize is where the party is at in September. Come celebrate with us and experience the full effect of the Caribbean in the heart of Central America.
