August marks the halfway point of the six months long slow tourism season in Belize. Since school is out many Belizeans would take this time to take vacation with their children to the some of the amazing tourism destination around the country. Whilst we are still in the rainy season this month seems to be the driest with mostly sunny days. No doubt we are all on watch and in preparatory mode in the case of any looming tropical cyclone that may be heading in our direction.
The beginning of next month is the opening of all the primary schools so plans are in motion for parents to make sure that their children are ready for the new school year. Secondary and tertiary level school reopen within the last two weeks of this month. Tourism related business would take stock, make preparation and upgrade their services as they awaiting the high season and brace themselves for the next couple months which is the slowest months in the calendar year for tourism.
Looking around the country we still could see visitors that make their way to Belize, its just not in large numbers.
